Straighten Your Smile

Clear Aligners At Parkside Dental

Invisalign and ClearCorrect can straighten your smile in about a year, and they are clear, removable alternatives to traditional metal braces.

Clear aligners correct the position of your teeth gently, and they are virtually invisible when worn.

Most patients with mild-to-moderate orthodontic issues care candidates for Invisalign or ClearCorrect.

No regular adjustment appointments are required with Invisalign or ClearCorrect, so you’ll spend less time in the dentist’s chair.

How do clear aligners work?

Clear aligners, like Invisalign and ClearCorrect, are made out of a strong, thin plastic that is similar in shape to a retainer. They are designed to gently shift your teeth over time, and move them toward the proper position in your mouth.

To begin your treatment, the team at Parkside Dental will work with ClearCorrect or Invisalign to build your custom aligners. Once your aligners are created, you’ll wear each set for 20-22+ hours per day. Usually, you will switch to a new set about every 2 weeks. Every 4-6 weeks, you’ll come in for an appointment at our office to check the progress of your treatment and get your next several sets of aligners. Most patients require around 20-24 sets of aligners to treat their smile, so the average treatment time is about a year, though this may vary.

What are the benefits of clear aligners?

Clear aligners have a number of great benefits. The most obvious benefit is that they are almost completely invisible when worn, and will not affect your speech. This makes them very popular among older patients who want to correct their smile, but do not want to wear unsightly metal braces.

In addition, clear aligners are removable so there are no dietary restrictions during treatment and you can brush and floss your teeth easily. This helps you maintain better oral hygiene while you straighten your smile. Overall, clear aligners tend to be more comfortable than metal braces and they do not exert heavy pressure on your teeth. You also don’t have to worry about having adjustments every few weeks, and the treatment time is usually shorter compared to other orthodontic alternatives.

What’s the difference between Invisalign and ClearCorrect?

Essentially, these treatments accomplish the same purpose with very similar methods. While there are some variations in the materials used to build your aligners, the aligners look mostly identical.
